reposting for the ladies of Sherlock challenge because SALLY DONOVAN
You can tag every part. However, if you continue posting after April is over, we’ll cease reblogging.
For ladiesofsherlock and their April challenge, I present a list of the Sally Donovan-centric fics that I’ve done in the past that can be found on AO3:
- The British Government and the Sergeant — Sally/Mycroft centered drabbles taken from Tumblr prompts and other sources.
- The Lester Rule — Friendship fic featuring Sally Donovan and Molly Hooper set during Season 2 and before Season 3 of Sherlock. Basically answered the question no one asked: “What would happen if Sally and Molly became best friends?”
- Vermillion — Set after The Lester Rule and Sally/Mycroft centered. I’m also pants at writing descriptions, so I’m just going to say read it.
- Settling — Sally and Molly have a heart-to-heart regarding a certain person named Tom. Chips fried in duck fat are also discussed.
- Unpretty — Song prompt by tygermama Why doesn’t Sally like Sherlock? Not for the reasons some would suspect.
- Everybody’s Got Their Something — Nikka Costa’s music moves Sally Donovan late one night at work.
I should add I’ve been working on other stuff (Ladies’ Night out with Mary, Molly and Sally and some more Salcroft), but I don’t know if they’ll be ready for the end of the challenge. But I’ll let y’all know when I’ve done them.

Fandom: Sherlock (TV)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence
Characters: Sally Donovan, Greg Lestrade, Charles Augustus Milverton
Summary: Lestrade is confronted with a mistake he made in the past and Sally Donovan gets dragged into a network of secrets and shadows. She eventually is confronted with a dreadful truth and has to make a decision.
Donovan never called me by my first name when we were out in the field.
I casted my eyes off the victim to my feet and looked at her. She was frowning and I could see worry in her eyes. She knew.
She didn’t reach her position for her nice looks and the ability to run in high heels if she needed to when she just got out of a press conference she so confidently wielded every time just a minute prior.
She knew something was off.

Relationships: Sally Donovan/Sherlock Holmes, Sally Donovan & Sherlock Holmes
Summary: People often speculate on Sherlock and Sally’s past. Some claim they were friends. Some say they always rubbed one another the wrong way. Some are convinced they slept together, others say she wouldn’t sleep with him, or he wouldn’t sleep with her. Some say he propositioned her, or she propositioned him, and the other got offended.
The thing is, they’re all right. And all wrong.
"You’ll laugh," Sally said, thinking no, you wouldn’t, "but half the office recons you’re gay."
As predicted, Sherlock did not laugh. In fact, he barely moved a muscle, merely watched her intently from the sofa opposite Sally’s chair.
"You’re not though, are you?" It wasn’t quite a question.
"Does it matter?"
She considered that. Well, she had an aunt who she used to think was her uncle, and she’d kissed a girl in college (but then, who hadn’t); it took all kinds, she supposed. “Maybe not.”
Sally watches as Molly huffs loudly and sits on the nearest bench, facing away from her. The pathologist crosses her arms and ignores the rain that is falling steadily in her face and hair, staring out angrily across the park. Sally contains a sigh as she draws closer to the bench, resting a hand cautiously on her girlfriend’s shoulder.
"Now, Molls, please, don’t be pissed at me. I didn’t wanna offend you."
She can practically see Molly roll her eyes, though she’s looking at the back of her head.
"Then maybe you shouldn’t belittle my profession."
Sally groans. “I wasn’t, Molls, I swear. You just…took it the wrong way.”
Molly whips around, fury and disbelief plain as her nose. Sally rushes to amend.
"Not what I meant. Sorry."
Molly sighs deeply, as if suddenly tired of listening to Sally. She turns round again, leaning against the bench and sulking slightly.
Sally looks fondly at the back of her head. Noticing the rate at which the rain and wind have picked up, she removes her jacket. She pushes gently on the back of Molly’s neck, urging her to sit up, and wraps the jacket around her. Then she kisses her head lightly.
"You really wanna stay here?"
Sally smooths a stray lock of light brown hair and nods. “I’ll leave you alone, then. And I’ll make this up to you when you come home. Promise.”
She leaves the park and walks back to their flat, then turns on the telly to block out the sense of nervousness that’s suddenly kicked in.
The rain has yet to stop, and Sally’s yet to watch two programs when she heard the door open.
Sally Donovan in The Sign of Three
First time really drawing Sally. I hope I did her justice. She was so radiant and happy in TSoT. I need an entire show of just her and Lestrade being amazing cops together.
