ladiesofsherlock prompt: school days
st bart’s sixth form class of 2014. full of cliques; the geeks, the chavs, the hipsters, the sluts. though there was one group that never really fit a stereotype. five girls in upper sixth, who had been best friends since primary school. there was janine hawkins who was always cracking jokes and pulling the most inventive of pranks. then there was irene adler who spent far more time smoking and shagging the entire year, than studying. then there was sally donovan who had a bit of a reputation for being an outspoken bitch, but was a total softie and great friend at heart. then there was mary morstan who impressed everyone with her ability to live a double life of both a* student , and party girl. then there was the ever innocent molly hooper who prefered to spend more time in the library than in a night club. and last but not least, there was the overly ambitious anthea harper who was dead set on being the next female prime minister. the five girls were all different in so many ways, and they often wondered how they’d even made friends in the first place. but whether they were doing shots in the uni bars or having a girly night watching a ryan gosling movie, they knew they were all bonded for life.

The Detective’s Club - No Mystery Too Big or Too Small: We’ll Solve Them All!Book #13 - Death at the Pool!"There’s a horrific accident at the school pool. Poor Carl Powers! The police don’t seem to think there’s foul play, but a mysterious bundle of ‘evidence’ is left for the DC. Can the teenage sleuths solve the case? And what does it all have to do with the mysterious new boy at school? Tall, dark, brooding, and exceedingly clever…could he outsmart them all?"

Years ago, before they were The Woman and Anthea, before they had some of the most powerful men at their feet in their respective ways, it was just the two of them.

Against what at the time seemed like the rest of the world.

Kitty Riley: School Reporter

samariumxantimatter:

It wasn’t fair, Kitty thought as she sat on the wall. It was bad enough having a name like kitty, and her hair was always going to make her a target, but seriously? The school newspaper was no reason to make fun of some one. She was not some sort of creepy stalker or anything, she just noticed what went on in school. Like, how Mycroft, the older Holmes boy, would vanish whilst Sally “bad-girl” Donovan would slink away from her friends. Or, how Morbid Molly would stare at Sherlock for hours on end. Urgh, it made Kitty shiver. Everyone but Sherlock could see how Morbid thought of him. It wasn’t Kitty’s fault that she was the only one who noticed how he looked at Morbid when he thought no one was looking. Or how the Home Economics teacher doted on her little group of students. Or how Mary Morstan wore a ring around her neck, but hadn’t told anyone of her engagement to the school’s blogger, “Bachelor” John Watson. Seriously, what kind of sixteen year old got called a ‘bachelor’, anyway. So here she was, called a creep for noticing things she would have been blind not to miss. Only Jim hadn’t thought she was a creep, but he only used her to get slander about Sherlock into the paper. Honestly, those two had been bickering since nursery.

Just as Kitty finished jotting down her latest observations in her pad, the bell rung. She jumped up and grabbed her satchel, hoping to get early to English so that she could share the stories with Anthea, the newspaper’s editor, and her only friend. Poor Kitty.

Ladies of Sherlock Challenge: The Ladies of Saint Brigids

allhailthefangirl:

This is my contribution to the Ladies of Sherlock September/October Challenge: School Days!

This will be a multi-chapter. I have the second chapter mostly written, but I just want to throw this one up to get started. I will be posting this on AO3 and FF.net. I encourage you to join in the challenge as well.

Chapter 1

Molly stumbled through the door of the dorm she shared with her best friend Mary, at the prestigious St Brigids Ladies College. After a day of dress shopping with Mary, and their friend Sally, she was utterly exhausted. She carefully hung her dress up in her closet, before falling face first on to her bed. Mary and Sally weren’t far behind her - Mary hanging her dress over the edge of her bed, and Sally just hanging hers up behind the door in anticipation of taking it next door to her own dorm.
